About the object
This young girl is wearing a traditional Lenzkirch costume with red ribbons crossed over her breast and a simple black bonnet. She was painted at the age of eighteen. The dark circles around her eyes are striking in the depiction. Her portrait forms a pair with the three-quarter length portrait of a young peasant.
