About the object

In historicism, reversion to the good old days before industrialisation was pronounced. Folk costumes were considered to be an old, cultural asset worthy of preservation, firmly fixing them in the consciousness of the people. This velvet children's bodice with stomacher and shoulder ribbons was specially made for an exhibition in Hinterzarten.
