Franz Xaver Winterhalter (Werkstatt)
Portrait of a Lady in Parkland, ca. 1840 - 1850
About the object
The voluminous skirt of this lady (possibly Baroness Schickler) extends over the entire width of the lower section of the composition. There is a view of an orangery in the background. The painterly style and signature (on the tabletop) would indicate that the painting wasn’t Winterhalter’s work, but made by someone in his studio.
