About the object
Like his father Carl, Friedrich was a member of the Knightly Canton of Hegau (or the Helgau Knighthood). At an early age, he became a knight of the imperial Order of St. George, the eight-pointed cross with royal crown of which he is wearing in this portrait. After his early death at the age of 29, his son Friedrich Carl was next in line to continue the Krafft-Ebing noble dynasty.
