About the object
The title page of the Heroes series shows the personification of the city of Rome and the Roman state. Below, the history of Rome from the founding myth to the imperial expansion of the empire is depicted. The dedication and the coat of arms with the double-headed eagle refer to Emperor Rudolf II of Habsburg.
