About the object
The second tracing for the Jagdpartie (Hunting Party) focuses on two different areas of the painting: the group around Max von Baden and the hunted stag at the centre of the picture. It is noticeable that Max von Baden - here on the far right - is depicted reversed, turning towards the other figures. Clearly, Kirner made motivic alterations to the composition until the point of completion.
