Johann Baptist Kirner

The lecture caricatures the Karlsruhe architect Jakob Hochstetter, who gives lectures to a group of students wearing peasant clothing. A poem in classical measure describes the incident which probably takes place at the Karlsruhe Polytechnikum (today the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology). The drawing recalls the caricatures of Honoré Daumier in its form and expression.
