About the object
This sheet documents old Todtnau, which burned to the ground in 1876. The core of the town was rebuilt in a completely different way, even the church was relocated. Dye works, spinning mills and fire sponge factories are situated on the outskirts of the town, easily recognisable by their red tiled roofs amidst the wooden houses. The largest building is the paper factory.
