About the object

Bissier describes the study of a lotus print as a »grand discovery which needs to be etched into every fibre of my being«, an event which became a key artistic epiphany for him. Bissier returned to the lotus repeatedly as a compositional motif, modifying it variously to the point of complete dissolution into individual forms.
