About the object

Freiburg, Reichsguldiner (Guldentaler) from 1564 with eagle or "raven" head as emblem of the city on the obverse and a bust of Emperor Ferdinand I. (1556-1564) with the imperial orb with the denomination 60 (kreuzer) on the reverse. Coins of the same type were minted in Breisach, in Basel and Colmar with the double-headed imperial eagle instead of the emperor's bust.
