Quiver

1911 - 1913

About the object

This quiver has been woven from reed, the cylindrical form tapers towards the middle. The exterior is covered with black resin. A single quiver could hold in between 150 to 200 pre-prepared poison arrows. To protect it from moisture, the quiver has a lid made from deerskin, which, however, is missing in this instance. The attached pear-shaped, small basket was used to store silk cotton, which was needed to fire the arrows.
