Herbert Rosner

Herbert Rosner's object boxes contain worlds in a small format that veritably open up before us. As in the theatre, he stages small scenarios that tell stories. Along with other artists at the annual »Kölner Kästchentreffen« (Cologne Chat-Club), Rosner develops plays with paper figures, which are performed in similar peep-shows. In this way he animates these little scenes. Rosner gives the objects a startling life of their own through his ironic, dadaesque deconstructions of the curated, museum staging.
