Wearing a black painter's smock, collar and bow tie and holding a brush in his hand: this is how Dominik Weber presents himself in this elegant self-portrait at the age of about forty. In addition to his work as a painter, Weber was also active in the business of restoring paintings. He lived in Freiburg from 1847 and was a member of the artist community, Ponte Molle.
