Joseph Kosuth is one of the leading figures and pioneers of Conceptual Art, which focuses on the conventions of art as a communication system. Kosuth concentrates on language, its perception and its system of rules. »Intentio (Project)« consists of four systematically linked sheets that have been enlarged into panels and is itself an examination of the shift in meaning via the change in the sense of words, translatability and transferability The first page addresses the German language's function as a mediator (Judgment sur la langue allemande). On the basis of a German-Italian dialogue, the second paper examines which words of a language describe certain states or properties in more detail. The third sheet deals with inaccuracies due to translation errors, and the last sheet deals with pronunciation.
