Pfennig
um 1195 - 1218
About the object
Minting from the Freiburg mint under Duke Bertold V of Zähringen (1186-1218). Half-length frontal portrait in a circle of pearls with a star and a cross (so-called Struwelkopfpfennig). Pfennig on a four-pointed blank with traces of embossing on the reverse. This type of coin was probably retained - in different variations - until the end of the Zähringer rule (1218).
