About the object
This photo is one of two prints of the only known self-portrait by Gottlieb Theodor Hase. It is part of a series of portraits of members of the Ponte Molle artists' society, of which he himself had been a member since the 1850s. Hase dedicated this print to his friend, municipal chief architect Sigmund Geiges (1810–1898).
