Gottlieb Theodor Hase
New building of the Evangeisches Stift at Hermannstrasse, 1877
About the object
In 1859 the entrepreneur Carl Mez (1808-1877) created his Foundation for Protestant Seniors. The buildings were erected on the vineyards planted after 1745. In 1877 the trust built its “supply house and hospice” for old and sick citizens in what is now Hermannstrasse. It had 52 rooms. The retirement home is still on this spot.
