Gottlieb Theodor Hase
Rotteck monument on Rotteckplatz from the north, um 1865
About the object
The monument was created in 1847 for the liberal politician Carl von Rotteck (1775-1840). First it was on the Franziskanerplatz. In 1862 it found its place near Rotteck's former home. In the background is the former nunnery of the Ursulines dressed in black ("Black Convent"). Here was a teaching and educational institute for girls.
