Front of the former Tennenbacher Hof (today's location of the Herder building on Habsburger Straße), vor 1908

About the object

The Tennenbacher Hof or Mönchhof (monk's court) was the urban residence of the Tennenbach Cistercian Abbey secularised in 1806. In 1819 the businessman Franz Xaver Kuenzer acquired the property. His descendant Adolph Kuenzer sold it to the publisher Hermann Herder in 1908. The picture was taken by the photographer Max Hess and his partner Joseph Schrödel, who took over the Hase & Sohn photo studio in 1905.
