Gottlieb Theodor Hase
University draftsman Franz Wagner, um 1860
About the object
Wagner (born 1810) was a draftsman at the Anatomical Institute of the University of Freiburg. He was considered an artist in his field and created countless plates in medical textbooks and atlases. His pseudonym in the Ponte Molle was "Beinschwarz" (Bone char), a color obtained from charred bones or ivory, which humorously refers to Wagner's activity in anatomy.
