About the object

Gottlieb Theodor Hase took this charming view of the Minster around 1870 over the gardens behind the Evangelisches Stift on Herrenstrasse. To this day, most of the houses pictured here are inhabited by clergymen, to whom the name Herrenstraße refers. The photograph was owned by the photographer's family. Fritz Hase donated it to the municipal collections in 1904.
