About the object
The accident with 69 dead and 200 seriously injured people happened on the route of the Breisgau railway to Colmar. The locomotive derailed at excessive speed. It was the worst railway accident in Germany up to that point. The high-quality collotype that Hase had made from his photographs was sold for the benefit of the victims.
