Unbekannter Fotograf

This image of Mount Fuji is remarkable on account of its composition. Although based on an actual black-and-white photograph, numerous aspects have been added by paintbrush. For example, the green grass to the bottom right, the mountain was highlighted with the addition of a dramatic white cloud, autumn leaves decorate the scene and romantic sunset hues to the left complete work of the colourist. This image vividly exemplifies the fact that the photographs were collaborations between photographers and colourists.
