About the object
A striking frontal view of a female musician playing the tsutsumi drum. She has other drums lying beside her and, standing against the wall, we see a koto. The tsutsumi drum was a traditional musical instrument used in both popular entertainment and in the performing arts, such as in kabuki theatre.
