About the object
In contrast to the Palmesel from Oberrotweil dating in the mid-14th century (inventory number 10079), this example is replete with its cart, wheels and drawbar. The figure was carried by churchgoers in the procession on Palm Sunday to commemorate Christ entering Jerusalem.
