About the object
This liturgical cruet set consists of a flat bowl and two jug-like vessels. They contain wine and water for the celebration of the Eucharist and are usually marked by the letters V (Latin: vinum = wine) and A (Latin: aqua = water). The oval bowl decorated with flowers and has two raised rings on its surface for the jugs. The rings are inscribed with the monograms IHS and MRA, which stand for Christ and Mary respectively.
