About the object
Johann Nepomuk von Klock (1800-1850) was first lieutenant of the First Infantry Regiment in Karlsruhe. He is wearing his uniform and is turning to the left toward his wife, Catharina Barbara Klock, whose portrait is also part of the collection. The couple had their portrait painted by the Karlsruhe miniature painter J. Spelter in their fifth year of marriage.
