Rattle
1911
About the object
This rattle is made from the stone fruit of the yellow oleander (cascabela thevetia). The row of stones is tied to the rattle by way of cotton string. This is in turn affixed to the top of a dance stick. During the Paschierá dance, the dance stick is struck on the ground in rhythm with the steps.
