About the object
Avarice, one of the Seven Deadly Sins, is depicted in the form of a man wearing unadorned garments. He has a bulging pot of money in front of him, which is he fearfully guarding with his right hand. His head, devoid of ears, is almost bald, his facial features seem exaggerated to convey stupid-ity.
