The fine, highly ramose silver aggregate is one of the important finds from the final years of the silver-mining heyday in the Central Black Forest. The Wittichen area was already renowned nationwide 200 years ago for its rich seams of silver and cobalt ores. A natural history enthusiast and pastor by the name of Walter Rössler generously donated this valuable specimen to the museum director at the time, Dr. Paul Lögler.
