Stove tile from Zähringen Castle

About the object

This tile, which belonged to a lavishly decorated, presumably hexagonal stove, was found at the beginning of the 20th century in the castle grounds and provides a clue about the fittings in the Zähringer castle. In addition to an eagle coat of arms, the tile shows a sqire holding the shield, who is looking out from behind a stone wall.
