About the object
Votive panels bear witness to the kinds of dangers to which people were exposed. Invocation of divine help was supposed to bring protection and support. The panels were hung in churches. The wellbeing of livestock was particularly crucial for farmers, hence the presence of cattle on this votive tablet, which comes from the St. Wendelin Chapel in Joostal.
