Anna Maria Lienhard of 'Hasle’, 1800 - 1899
About the object
Anna Maria Lienhard of 'Hasle' is depicted here spinning straw. In the Black Forest, straw spinning was an important source of income, which was practised by women. The portrait hails from the estate of Heinrich Hansjakob, the sitter’s great-grandson. It forms a pair with that of her husband Tobias Hansjakob.
