About the object
The girls portraited here are the daughters of First Lieutenant Nepomuk von Klock and his wife Babette. They are sitting on a bench in the countryside. The family dog has also crept its way into the portrait. His head sits beneath the younger girl's hand. The portrait was painted at the same time as those of their girls’ parents, also by J. Spelter.
