Portrait of Tobias Hansjakob, 1800 - 1899
About the object
The baker Tobias Hansjakob (1730-1808) is wearing a red waistcoat over his white shirt and the typical baker's cap on his head. He held lofty municipal offices in Haslach; he was a councillor and a municipal architect. The portrait hails from the estate of Heinrich Hansjakob, the sitter’s great-grandson. It forms a pair with that of his wife Anna Maria.
