Münsterbauhütte, Freiburg

The shoulder bust comes from the dodecagonal star gallery of the Freiburg Minster Tower. Together with other corbels of the same kind, it was installed in this position at a height of almost 40 meters above the ground. The designation "Baumeister" has no historical foundation. Nevertheless, as a supportive figure on whose shoulders the building seems to be a burden, it is wholly appropriate.
