A sparsely furnished room, dominated by a velvet-covered armchair, in an urban residential area: the everyday scene we witness while looking at the painting seems like a fleeting snapshot. The glimpses of a stranger's life, as well as the familiar, impersonal view from the window, allow us to draw very few conclusions about the person in the armchair - their age, their gender, their height, their posture. The title nevertheless indicates the great importance of merely being in that armchair.
