As the son of Joseph Alexander III and Sophie, Adolf I took over the management of the banking department. He had received proper banking training at Merian and Forkart in Basel, which enabled him to organise the work efficiently and in a modern way. Unfortunately, he died at the age of just thirty-three without being able to reap the fruits of his great achievement.
