Rudolf Großmann

Gleisdreieck, 1910 - 1914

About the object

Dynamically, the train is entering Berlin’s Gleisdreieck station, which existed until 1912 and was eventually rebuilt after several rail accidents. The tracks are now no longer connected on one plane, but cross over one another. Rudolf Großmann’s etching depicts this new construction. Thus, Großmann had captured a technical achievement in the metropolis – a focus that differs from the works in his portfolio "Around and About Berlin", which was published in 1912.
