Rudolf Großmann
Max Liebermann, um 1926
About the object
Rudolf Großmann became known predominently for his many portrait drawings of contemporaries, which often also illustrated his journalistic texts in magazines and daily newspapers. One of these contemporaries was the artist Max Liebermann, whom Großmann drew on several occasions. In a gelatin etching, a technique invented by Großmann, Liebermann appears finely dressed in half-profile. Placed at the lower edge of the picture, the artist's hand appears ghostly.
