The unfired clay model of the ornate, ostentatious stove bears the coat of arms of the St. Blaise monastery and its abbot, Martin Gerbert. The stove was never built. However, the model is testimony to Gerbert's support for the craft. With activities of this kind, monasteries were able to help the Black Forest region flourish economically
