Saints Peter and Paul, um 1500
About the object
The figures of the two apostle princes once stood in the shrine of an altarpiece. Although their attributes - a key and a sword respectively - are missing, it is possible to identify them by virtue of their physical characteristics. While Peter is usually shown as an older man with curly hair and beard, Paul is depicted with a narrow face, receding hairline and long beard.
