About the object
Amalie Ackermann from Freiburg was the Mother Superior of the Congrégation Notre-Dame in Breisach. The convent was destroyed in the Second World War and the ruins demolished in 1966. She is depicted here as a young woman wearing the habit of the Ursuline Order.
