Passionsteppich / Wandbehang mit fünf Szenen der Passion
About the object
The first five stations of Christ's Passion are depicted dramatically: the Mount of Olives, arrest, Christ before the High Priest, scourging and crowning with thorns. A second hanging with the continuation of the event has been lost to posterity. The tapestries were donated to the Minster by the mother of the Imperial court chancellor, Conrad Stürtzel in 1518 and attached to the gothic rood screen, which once stood there.
