Golden and glittering, this covid mask is a homage to the popular Mexican form of wrestling, lucha libre. During their performance, the wrestlers, known as luchadores, wear impressive masks and costumes that recall superheroes and superheroines. It is not uncommon for the luchadores to maintain their fictitious fight identity beyond the actual bout itself. This red-golden mask is a reference to the wrestling legend Manuel González Rivera (b. 13 April 1936 – † 12 September 2004), known as luchador “Dr Wagner”.
