About the object

The parish church of St. Peter and Paul marks the centre of the village, which was still of a manageable size in Morat's time. Viticulture and the textile industry were the most important branches of Lörrach's economy at that time, to which the vines in the foreground and the dyed, red fabric laid out to dry testify.
