About the object
The vantage point chosen here is the most elevated of all other studies. This has the effect of accentuating the course of the Rhine and the mouth of the Aar River. Morat probably availed himself of maps as templates through which real observations might be embellished. The sheet was produced before Waldshut was connected to the railway network in 1856.
