About the object
We look down on Zell from an elevated position, with the artist depicting the houses of the village proportionally larger when compared to the surrounding mountains. Zell was also a centre of the textile industry, as the lengths of white cloth from Montfortian bleaching lawn (left in the picture) and factory buildings by the river illustrate.
