About the object
When compared to the pencil drawing made earlier, the hastily sketched pen and ink drawing for the painting Jagdpartie (Hunting Party) reveals a significant alteration: Kirner combines both halves of the composition into a composite scene. It is now dominated by Grand Duke Leopold, who has been placed centrally in front of the tree.
