About the object
The painter's birthplace is divided into two settlements: areas: the formerly fortified upper town and the older village in the Wutachaue. The Hohenlupfen Castle towers above. No other view of a place was revised and updated by Morat as much as this one. The sawmill on the Wutach (bottom left) has grown in size over the years.
